Lovely collectable blue and white willow pattern plate from the Fedele Primavesi & Son pottery active in Cardiff and Swansea in Wales between 1850 to 1915.
This is an early example of transfer ware developed in Britain in the late 18th century. A drawing was engraved on a copper plate which was then inked and transferred to a fabric before being transferred to the ceramics. The plate is in a very good antique condition backstamped with the Primavesi crest from Cardiff or Swansea and measure 9.25"/23.5cm in diameter.
A rare and collectable plate which display beautifully!
