Primrose House is a detached family home that arrived at our doorstep as a tired rental property, longing for warmth and personality. The brief was simple but full of possibility: breathe new life into a dull, uninspiring space and transform it into a timeless, welcoming home for modern family living. With limited time, the challenge became about making thoughtful, bold choices that would completely shift the atmosphere without losing sight of practicality.
This project also marked the beginning of our exciting collaboration with COAT Paints ; a conscious, forward-thinking brand whose ethos of sustainability and style aligns beautifully with our own. Working with their palette allowed us to bring depth and richness to every room, pairing modern, velvety finishes with shades that effortlessly adapt to natural light and mood. Their paints provided not only colour but also character, elevating once-bland walls into canvases of timeless design.
Our design narrative drew inspiration from the four seasons; the freshness of spring, the vibrancy of summer, the warmth of autumn, and the calm stillness of winter. Each room was imagined as part of this cycle, creating a rhythm of tones and textures that reflect both the passage of time and the enduring nature of family life. From muted, grounding hues to playful pops of colour, the house became layered, characterful, and alive.
The result is a home that no longer feels like a rental, but rather a true family sanctuary: warm, timeless, and full of personality. Primrose House stands as a reminder that with imagination, even the most ordinary properties can be transformed into extraordinary places to live.
